About the Artist
Anne Young is a 20 year old artist based in her hometown Flagstaff, AZ. She is mesmerized by the truth, beauty, and goodness found in daily life and strives to show it to her viewers in a realistic and uplifting way.
Anne grew up in a large homeschooling family, and spent hours of her free time in bed or outside drawing on stacks of copy paper with a mechanical pencil. She began getting portrait commissions in high school, which encouraged her to pursue art further into college.
In 2023 she received the Student of the Year Award in Fine Arts at Coconino Community College and graduated with honors in 2024 with her AFA. While pursuing her education, she also explored different angles of an artistic career by working part time as a children’s art teacher and providing illustrations for a children’s book.
Anne is passionate about family, her faith, and bringing joy to others, which is reflected in her favorite subject: portraits of loved ones. She also loves walking outdoors, collecting too many sweaters, and watching period dramas.
She enjoys drawing and painting in her makeshift-garage-studio and alongside others in the Flagstaff art community.
